We recently hosted guests from Vitality VFX, one of the top studios in the world for digital makeup and beauty work, among other visual effects tasks. Most of their work is invisible and kept secret, using specific techniques that other studios spend less time perfecting.
Vitality’s credits include: A Series of Unfortunate Events (Season 2), Stranger Things (Season 2), Justice League, Wonder Woman, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Mountain Between Us, The Dark Tower, Assassin’s Creed, The Revenant, and more! Look for more of their VFX work in the upcoming films: Adrift and Mowgli.
Our second term Compositing students were able to meet the Vitality’s VFX Supervisor: Ji Kim, the Digital Production Manager: Joyce Au: and a graduate from Lost Boys/ current Compositor at Vitality: Shuhei Ogawa. Ji and Shuhei shared 2 visual examples of how they would approach a shot assigned to the students, and also shared valuable feedback and advice for each student’s personal digital makeup work!
A special thanks also to Vitality for employing 12 our Compositing grads since the studio started in 2015, including:
Hui-Wen Wu (Class 6)
Kishor Joshi (Class 7)
Tim Liu (Class 11)
Manuel Feria Gonzalez (Class 13)

Andrew Zeller (Class 17 / Current Lead BG Prep Instructor at Lost Boys)
