For our second project of the program we explore creating 3D object tracking and integration. Normally titled our X-23/Wolverine project, this time we changed things up and are building a 3D Katana blade to virtually plunge through our Zombie actor. The primary 3D techniques covered are object tracking, basic modeling and animation, photorealistic lighting and shaders, and fundamental render layers. Compositing challenges include working with multipass CG Renders, color correction, digital make-up, and masking techniques. Big thanks to our students for braving the cold winter night for our epic plate shoot!
